Jerry Grayson joined the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm at the age of 17, becoming the youngest pilot serving in the Royal Navy.

He served as a helicopter pilot for 8 years, initially aboard HMS ARK ROYAL and later as a search and rescue pilot based at RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall. By the age of 25 he was the most decorated peacetime naval pilot, and was presented with the Air Force Cross by the Queen for outstanding gallantry during the rescue of yachtsmen from the 1979 Fastnet yacht race.

Since leaving the Navy, Jerry has become one of the film industry’s leading film pilots, designing and shooting as well as flying in aerial action sequences for films including Black Hawk Down and the James Bond movie View To A Kill. His company Helifilms has filmed footage for hundreds of commercials and documantaries, and Jerry recently wrote and directed the IMAX documentary, THE EARTH WINS.

Jerry now lives in Melbourne, Australia, with his wife and business partner, Sara Hine.
